This section describes everything from who leads the church, to what you can expect in a regular meeting. We would also encourage you to read through our statement of faith and values so you get a bit more of an idea what we are about as a community and what drives us.
Welcome
Woody is a warm, welcoming fellowship – a community of vibrant faith and worship, passionate in its commitment to Christ and to the gospel. Our vision is to be a church family, embracing all kinds of diversity but united in Christ, vibrant with the presence of God; welcoming and winning people for Christ, discipling one another to be reshaped through following Jesus, built up in our faith, equipped and sent out to declare and demonstrate the love of Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit. We aim both to be an effective witness for Christ where we are, and a resource for the Christian church in the UK and around the world where the people of Woody will serve.
We have a vision for a church that expresses the life of Jesus in a world that desperately needs Him. We think it’s something worth striving for, and we hope you will too.
Being a Christian is more than just an instantaneous conversion – it is a daily process whereby you grow to be more and more like Christ.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.
